Apollo 11 Panoramas

Out on the lunar surface, Neil and buzz shared the photographic duties and each of them were tasked with taking panoramic views.   The 60mm lens Biogon lens used on the Hasselblad has an amazing depth of filed and was ideally suited for this type of photography.   The Hasselblad as used on the lunar surface didn’t have a viewfinder, to aid aiming and framing they used a pair of sight lines painted on the barrel of the lens at an angle of 47 degrees which indicated the horizontal field-of-view.   With the chest-mounted camera it was easy to estimate the field-of-view looking across the top of the camera to compose the shot. (The numbering, Panorama 1 etc. refers the the fold-out inserts in the book).
